Copper nickel alloys compose of copper, nickel and little other metal, such as Mn. CuNi alloy was used for making coins in ancient for the feature of high corrosion resistant. 

Nowadays they are used for heating wires, low-value resistors, mats in heating cords and heating cables with low conductor temperatures as well as for tube-weldings “electrical welding fittings”because of the characteristics of low resistivity, high resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion.

Take ribbons for instance, it is used for heating of bimetals. The max working temperature in air is 400℃.
